Oak Class Home Learning and Weekly Learning Grid 11.05.2020
Date: 11th May 2020 @ 8:43am
Good Morning Oak Class!
I hope you all had a lovely and restful weekend. The weather on Saturday was absolutely gorgeous wasn’t it?
Today marks the start of a new week, so a new weekly learning grid is available. Please remember that you can pick and choose which activities to complete at your own pace. If anything, I would like everyone to read every day though please!
Harry Potter and Philosopher’s Stone
We last left the story at the end of chapter two. Harry had been to the zoo and had a conversation with a snake. The famous scene was filmed in the Reptile House at ZSL London Zoo in 2001.
Visit the ZSL London Zoo website and familiarise yourself with the information available about the animals in the Reptile House. Once you have done this, choose a species to learn a little more about and create a fact file about them (you can find this by clinking on the 'species' tab). There are some truly interesting creatures to learn about on this page, so I look forward to seeing which ones you choose!

To my Year 6 children…
As some of you may (or may not) have realised, today was supposed to be the start of your SATs. The 11th of May has been etched into my brain since it was first anounced that I was to be your teacher this year.
Whilst I am happy that you do not have the stresses of these tests this week, I know that you all worked so incredibly hard to prepare for them. All of your hard work NEVER went unnoticed and I am very proud of each and every single one of you. It truly is a pleasure to teach you all and I know that I am lucky in being able to call you my class.
Although you haven’t had the opportunity to showcase your efforts in this year’s SATs, please know that you are not defined by a score on a test paper. You are all so much more than that!
So, this week, instead of the nerves and the worries of getting through the tests, let’s remember it as a week full of happiness and smiles. A time in our lives that we got to spend at home with our loved ones.
Thank you for your continued efforts and hard work, I really appreciate it during the current climate. I’m hoping to see you all soon.
Take care. Keep smiling.
Love,
Mrs Davies x
