Good morning Oak Class!
I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday. How did you find the writing task? Which animals did you choose to write about?
Last night, I went and did the food shop for our household. We made a list of all of the meals that we want to have this week and one of them was to have pancakes for breakfast. So at 7:00am this morning, I made pancakes for us all – they were delicious! I’ve attached a picture for you to see – do you think I could be on the next Masterchef programme? Haha.
Maths - As mentioned last week, teachers won't be setting daily maths activities on our blog. Please see your weekly learning grid for maths suggestions.

English – I can write a narrative poem about the rain forest
At the beginning of the half term, we wrote some FANTASTIC poems about a journey around the world. We used personification as a way to describe the sea and weather. Today, I would like you to write a similar style poem about the rainforest.
Use personification for the trees/plants and the weather but you could also add in descriptions of the tropical animals too.
Here is a suggested format to follow for each verse:
Line 1 – Describe an animal
Line 2 – Personification of the setting/weather
Line 3 – Verbs to describe
Line 4 – How it made you feel
Here is my example:
A scarlet and blue macaw perches contently
Rain races though the gaps in the canopy
Rushing and slamming, heavy droplets fall onto the jungle floor
I am left breathless
I am really looking forward to reading your poems!
If you need me, comment on our blog post.
Have a fabulous day – missing you all.
Mrs Davies
