Good morning Oak Class!
I hope that you are all well and staying safe. Today marks Captain Tom Moore’s 100th birthday. He has recently made news headlines across the country for his valiant efforts to raise money for the NHS. I actually read an article this morning that said he had been made an honorary colonel. How fabulous!
Writing – British Values
Today’s writing task is inspired by this inspirational role model.
How can one person make a big difference?
Watch the two videos about Tom Moore:
I want you to reflect on today’s key question and write two paragraphs in response to it. You can do this either in your home learning book or on Purple Mash/Microsoft Word.
Here is a suggestion of how to structure your work:
Paragraph 1: Write about how you think one person can make a big difference and the importance of small acts of kindness.
Paragraph 2: Explain how Colonel Tom Moore made a difference. How did he raise money? Why did he do this? How much has he raised? Why is he a role model?
I have attached a resource to support today’s task. This can be accessed via our ‘School Spider’ app or by following the link to our school website.

I hope you enjoy the writing activity. I hope it inspires you complete your very own act of kindness for someone today. J
Missing you as always.
