Oak Class Home Learning 04.06.2020

Good morning Oak Class!
It was really lovely to talk to some of you yesterday, and I know that Mrs Havard felt the same after her telephone conversations too. It honestly made my week! I’m glad that you are all well and making the most of your time at home. If you are in Y6 and you didn’t get a phone call about your bubble yesterday, then we will try again today. I will also ensure that I personally phone everyone from Oak class (that I haven’t already spoken to) at the beginning of next week to check in and see how you are.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
Today I would like you to watch the following clip from the Harry Potter film.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SafKm0tsSOw
In this scene, the trio arrive at Hogwarts for the first time. It’s an exciting moment in the story and I love how it has been portrayed on screen.
It’s quite a nice and simple task today. I would like you to write a postcard in the role of Ron Weasley. He is one of Harry’s best friends and actually the first friend he encounters when on his train journey to Hogwarts.
Ron comes from quite a large and caring family. You may choose who he addresses his postcard to, but remember, some of his siblings are also at Hogwarts so it wouldn’t make sense to write to them.
Postcards are short, informal pieces of writing, so you need to be precise.
- Let them know you’ve arrived and your first impressions
- What you have done so far
- Any friends you have made
- What you are going to do
- Sign off
I hope you all have a lovely day everyone! If you need me, please contact me via our blog. Alternatively, ask an adult to email me.
