Today I would like you to write a diary of your first school week at home. Try to include:
·Prepositions and adverbials of time (next, today, then, yesterday, on Tuesday, in the evening)
·Paragraphs (a new one for each different activity or time of day or day of the week)
·A range of punctuation
·Emotions words
Here’s mine to give you some ideas:
This has been one of the strangest weeks that I can remember. We’ve been at home now for 10 days without stepping outside of the front door, except on Wednesday when we went looking for rainbows in our road! There were so many beautiful rainbows – it really cheered us up!
Every morning, we try to make sure that we’re all up and dressed by 9 then we do some exercise. We’ve done the Joe Wickes workout some days and played a lot of Just Dance! Now all my muscles ache! I must be getting too old for this!
We try to do some learning in the morning but Holly’s not been too keen so we’ve done a little bit of phonics and number work but also lots of playing and running around in the garden. Erin’s been doing some Maths and some English most mornings – practising her fractions work. Every morning we do some craft (lego, play dough, colouring, gels, hama beads) and ofcourse lots of snacks!
After lunch we do some more learning and some reading and then we’ve played in the garden every day because the sunshine has been so lovely. The guinea pigs have got a new run so they have loved being outside eating all the yummy grass!
Bedtimes have been a bit later than usual but we’re all happy and ok so it doesn’t matter so much.
Remember that this work is here to keep your brain working. It’s for you to do as much as you can but this might be different every day! Some days we do more than other days. The important thing is that you all stay happy and healthy so make sure that you’re doing some daily exercise, having fun, getting some fresh air and spending time with your families! These are the most important things to remember. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
