Hello Larch class,

Hope this Wednesday finds you well.

This Friday it is VE Day, which stands for ‘Victory in Europe’ Day, which is when Germany surrendered in World War Two. This marked the end of the war in Europe with only Japan still fighting (which was finished by America dropping two A-bombs killing thousands).

I want you to write a diary entry as a soldier finding out the news that the war has finished. Remember to put in their thoughts and feelings.

‘I can write a diary entry on VE Day.’
