Oak Class Home Learning and Weekly Learning Grid 20.04.2020
Date: 20th Apr 2020 @ 7:53am
Good morning Oak Class!
Welcome to the start of the summer term. The time is passing by incredibly quickly! I hope you are all well and keeping safe. I am missing you all terribly – Isla doesn’t talk as much as you lot just yet!
As of today, our daily class blog will begin again. I will post on it every morning with a writing task. All other learning tasks can be found on the ‘weekly learning grid’ which is on the ‘School Spider’ app and on our school website. Please do not worry about giving each piece of work an ‘I can’ statement. The work set is suggested learning. As long as you are happy and healthy, then I am happy!
Remember, I am available to contact via our school blog or through my email. If you wish to email me, please ask an adult to do so – mrsdavies@westfieldprimaryschool.com
Writing – The Kraken
I will post the poem in a separate blog on Purple Mash. Read through the poem and answer the following questions in your home learning books.
Where does the Kraken sleep?
How does he sleep if it is ‘uninvaded’?
Can you find examples of archaic (older) language?
How can you tell this sea monster has laid below the sea for a long time? Which words are used?
What happens to the Kraken on the surface of the water?
List five adjectives used in the poem.
Which are your favourite descriptions from the poem? Why do you like them?
Thank you for your continued efforts during these uncertain times. Let me know how you are getting on by either posting on your personal blog or our class blog. I would love to hear from as many of you as possible.
Still your teacher even though we’re not in the classroom - Mrs D x
