I hope you all had a lovely start to the week yesterday. Today is a new day, so let’s make it count. Did anyone set themselves a goal for the month of May? I’d love to hear about them.

Today's task is just comprehension questions as there is quite a bit of reading involved. The writing task for chapter two will follow tomorrow.

• How long has passed in the story?

• What day is it?

• Where does Harry sleep?

• What does shrill mean?

• Find and copy a phrase that shows that Dudley is ungrateful.

• Find and copy a phrase that shows Aunt Petunia’s disbelief on Page 23.
• How can you tell the Dursleys don’t care for Harry?
• Why do the Dursleys usually leave Harry with Mrs Figg?
• Why can’t they this year?
• Why do you think Dudley stopped pretending to cry when Piers arrived?
• Why do you think Rowling moved the story on ten years? Was there any point in Chapter 1?
