Maple Class Home Learning 5.5.20
Date: 4th May 2020 @ 10:37pm
Good morning everyone. Please find below today's learning as well as an attached newspaper for the reading challenge.
Today's learning
I have created 2 new posts with last week's Maths answers for you to self-mark.
Linking to yesterday's writing about your favourite game, today's task is from this week's 'Picture News' and is related to toys.
The toy world is in the grip of a llama obsession as the woolly South American animals become the
new industry sensation! At the American International Toy Fair in New York in February, there were
llamas everywhere! Knitted, plush and sequinned, small and large; llamas on mobile phone cases
and swimming pool floats, llama diaries, puzzles and even backpacks.
Things to talk about at home…
- What are your favourite toys at the moment? Talk about why you like them.
- Can you remember any of your first toys?
- If you can, ask someone older than you about their favourite toy. Would you have liked that toy?
- Do you think when you become an adult you will still enjoy playing with toys? Why?
When you have discussed the answers with an adult, write down your answers in your work books.
After this, respond to the main question on the blog 'What makes some toys more popular than others?' You may want to ask your parents to post it on the website like Larch Class did to win their teddy.
Share your thoughts and read the opinions of others on our discussion board: www.picture-news.co.uk/discuss
I'm also setting a daily reading challenge. Today's reading challenge is to read the Picture Newspaper that I've put on the School Spider app. On the blog, answer the question:
In what year was the Hubble telescope sent into space and why?
Extra Reading challenge:
Can you find an adjective for every letter in the alphabet in a book in your house or on Bug Club?
