Beech Class Home Learning 06.05.2020
Date: 6th May 2020 @ 9:40am
Good morning Beech Class!
I hope that you are having a lovely week! Just to let you know that there is a live science lesson that you may want to engage with today at 10am. I will leave details at the end of this blog post.
Writing
Today I would like you to start writing your poem using all of your ideas from the last 2 days. You need to choose 1 of your seasons and write a verse about it in the same way as this example. It does not need to rhyme as not all poems do!
Spring is here!
Small green shoots appear
Days grow longer
Trees covered in pink fluffy blossom
The hedgehog wakens from his deep winter sleep
The sun warms the earth
Spring is here!

Title: BIRD INSPIRATION!
Description: Time for a bit of drama and science as we become birds! I'll show you how :) The investigation I'm going to show you illustrates how birds survived or died because of the shape of their beaks and the food that was available. This is a useful model to helps us understand evolution.
Thanks to @GreatSciShare and @SpringLearns for developing this resource.
Resources required:
***YOU DON'T NEED ALL OF THESE THINGS, JUST A COUPLE FROM EACH LIST!***
Tools which can act like birds beaks, e.g: tweezers, scissors, bulldog clips of different sizes, clothes pegs, tea spoons
Things which can act as ‘bird food’ such as: dried beans (different sizes), peas, paperclips, rubber bands, small types of pasta, marbles
Enjoy!
